We present a digital pre-distortion technique to improve the fidelity of entangling gates in trapped ion qubits. By characterizing and correcting the non-linear response of an acousto-optic modulator, our method enables accurate modulation of the optical field, allowing for fast and robust multi-tone entanglement gates without fidelity loss. This approach is straightforward to implement and compatible with advanced waveform modulation schemes.

Programmable quantum simulations on a trapped-ions quantum computer with a global drive

Our method enables quantum simulations of programmable spin-Hamiltonians, using only simple global fields, driving all qubits homogeneously and simultaneously.

Programmable Global Ising Dynamics and Predistorted Gate Control in Trapped Ions

July 15, 2025

Poster, 70th Annual Meeting of the Israel Physical Society (IPS), Technion - Israel Institute of Technology, Haifa, Israel

Presenter: Jovan Markov, Weizmann Institute of Science
